I can’t believe it’s finally here! What a challenging journey this has been – I wish I could blame the long time between book two and this one on the Pandemic, but it’s only partially responsible. :) However, I can tell you I’m already super close to finishing book four, BURYING THE DEAD, so the wait should be MUCH shorter this time. :)

I’m so excited to announce that my unpublished historical mystery, A Lamentation of Swans, won Gold for Best Unpublished Mystery in the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards! Not only that, but the book was named First Runner Up for Unpublished Book of the Year – a category which includes ALL fiction novels submitted, regardless of genre! To say I’m honored and excited is a severe understatement!! :)
Now I just need to publish it, so you all can read it, too. LOL!!!

Yep, you read that right: DAMNING THE DEAD is finally in the final pre-pub stage! More than a year later than expected, but who’s counting?? (If you need excuses, try: Personal, Professional, and Global Catastrophes over the last 18+ months. ‘Nuff said. :)) I am SO excited that it’s finally almost here, and I can share more of Hyacinth & Co.’s ups, downs, and all-arounds with you all! And let me tell you – this time, she’s in for one helluva ride!!!

I’m SO happy to announce that WAKING THE DEAD won another award – this one for third place in the National Excellence in Story Telling (NEST) Contest. Paranormal Category! This is a highly competitive competition, and I’m thrilled to have placed so highly!
Additionally, last week I received this AMAZING 5-star review, from Reader’s Favorite, which reads in part, “a very engrossing romantic and fantasy blockbuster of a tale that is sure to keep readers turning the pages from cover to cover.” SQUEE!!!
Um…WOW! Right after I finally posted about WAKING THE DEAD’s recent awards, I found out PUBLISH OR PERISH earned Second Place for Novel Length Suspense in the International Digital Awards!!!
This means so much to me – of course I love all my book babies. But this was the first romance I wrote that I really thought had a chance at traditional publishing. And when that never materialized, it became the first book I self-published. (So far, it’s the ONLY one, but I’m working on more! LOL!)
Anyway – it’s been a labor of love, literally, from the start. So to have it also earning awards is really special. :) Now, back to whatever it was I’m supposed to be doing today (besides remembering the importance of the day itself… :)). Again, hope you’re all able to appreciate Veteran’s Day, and have a wonderful Wednesday!
I am SO late announcing this here! Life has been crazy – I can’t believe Awards Month has come and gone, and now it’s mid-November already. *sigh* But better late than never, right?
So, without further ado, I am super excited to announce that WAKING THE DEAD won the Gold Medal for Best Published Fantasy in Florida Writers Association’s Royal Palm Literary Award! I am so honored by this award, as DEBRIEFING THE DEAD won it last year.
WOW. Just…wow. :)
And…I’m even later announcing that WAKING THE DEAD also earned First Runner Up in InD’tale Magazine’s Reward Of Novel Excellence Award for Best Paranormal (Long) – which DEBRIEFING THE DEAD won last year!
